“Goni” Coral Information

The scientific name for Goniopora Coral is “Giopora Tenuidens”, but people in the coral community also call them “Goni” for short. It is a large polyp stony coral that is found in shallow water in the Indo-Pacific region. Goni coral is considered to be a harder coral to keep so it would be the best fit for more experienced reef keepers.

Goniopora corals can feed off of small food like zooplankton, phytoplankton, or liquid coral food and like medium light and medium to low water flow. They tend to get along pretty well with other corals but crabs, snails, and larger fish can damage them.
